About
Printmaking, drawing, photography, and film.
I am a visual artist based in South Devon. I graduated with an MA in Printmaking from UAL Camberwell in 2019.
I work by the sea. My projects trace the tide’s flux of stillness and motion, presence and absence. These rhythms are both intimate and monumental: the salt secreted in the creases of the rocks by the retreating tide; the lyrical play of taut and slack of seaweed strands dispersed along the shoreline; the granular tactility of rocks etched by wind and water.
The tide coaxes our encounter. Returning time and again to the same shoreline, across tidal states, weathers, and seasons, I interrogate the reciprocal relationship between body and landscape. I find my own feelings furling and unfurling through the forms and movement of the tideline - joy, sorrow, uncertainty, anxiety, resilience.
I work quickly and spontaneously in situ, making photographs, films, imprints, drawings, and ink transfers of what I find. I am interested in how texture, depth, scale, and gesture emerge through these different media.
